Ammunition crates, now empty in the wake of recent heavy fighting, are stacked outside the military barracks at the Tripoli airport. One of the victors, wearing military fatigues, is sitting in a luxurious leather armchair inside the building. He presses his combat boots into the thick carpet, his facial features as rigid as if they had been sculpted. The man speaks intently. Da Primavera Árabe ao Inverno Muçulmano…

Pois é! Como eu já tenho assinalado a algum tempo, a situação do Levante no Norte da África e do Oriente Médio parece caminhar para o desenvolvimento de regimes fundamentalistas, regulados pela Sharia e pouco democráticos… A alternativa turca acabará dando lugar para o modelo iraniano… Aí é que a coisa degringola…

Apenas os que conheciam pouco da realidade daquela região poderiam achar que o Levante culminaria no estabelecimento da democracia nos Estados árabes. Não vai. E aí vai ser pior para todo mundo… Espero estar enganado…

Inverno islâmico no Irã?

Com tudo que vem acontecendo nas últimas semanas, tanto no Egito quanto na Síria e, naturalmente, na Líbia, com a maneira obscena com que Kadafi foi executado como um animal, sob as bênçãos da OTAN, parece que a Primavera Árabe (a que sempre preferi chamar de “o Levante”) está a se transformar em um inverno islâmico… Os fundamentalistas ganham espaço no Egito e na Líbia e, no Irã, a coisa parece ficar mais surreal rumo a um governo teocrático absolutista (não sei se essa seria boa definição).
