Não há dúvida de que o contraterrorismo nos EUA tem vencido batalhas importantes. Oxalá se consiga enfraquecer essas nefastas organizações como a Al Qaeda para que o mundo possa dormir melhor.

Com terrorista não se negocia. E só há uma verdadeira forma de se lidar com esses grupos e pessoas…

É inaceitável e inconcebível que o século XXI ainda testemunhe cenas como esta. Fome, guerra, peste… Até quando o continente negro terá que conviver com esses males?

Acho importante a leitura do artigo que segue. Não tenho qualquer percepção idealista ou ingênua do problema africano, que ainda perdurará por muitos anos.

Desespero-me em pensar que ainda milhares de crianças passem fome enquanto se desperdiça alimentos por aqui. É só um desabafo. Pobre África…

Twenty five years ago, in the aftermath of a devastating famine in Ethiopia, remembered for better and worse for Bob Geldof’s Bandaid concerts, I wrote a book called “Famine: A Man-Made Disaster?” The question mark said it all. I ghostwrote the book for a group of African and other leaders who were more tentative than I was in declaring what had happened was largely the fault of African governments.
