Polícia Federal cria centro contra invasões virtuais

 A Polícia Federal inaugurou, nesta segunda-feira (4/6), o Centro de Monitoramento do Serviço de Repressão a Crimes Cibernéticos em Brasília. A ideia é proteger os sistemas de informação e infraestruturas críticas do governo federal por meio de um sistema de prevenção e investigação.

O centro contra ataques de hackers está equipado com ferramentas de análise de dados e inteligência policial, que serão manuseadas por policiais especializados.

Segundo a própria Polícia Federal, as cerca de 320 redes do Governo Federal recebem mais de 2 mil ataques por hora e o objetivo do centro inaugurado será identificar e acompanhar, continuamente, os responsáveis por estes ataques.

Atuação estatal para lidar com essa ameaça. A NSA é o maior orçamento de inteligência dos EUA. Isso é sinal de efetiva preocupação com um problema de significativas dimensões.

 (Reuters) – The National Security Agency, a secretive arm of the U.S. military, has begun providing Wall Street banks with intelligence on foreign hackers, a sign of growing U.S. fears of financial sabotage.

The assistance from the agency that conducts electronic spying overseas is part of an effort by American banks and other financial firms to get help from the U.S. military and private defense contractors to fend off cyber attacks, according to interviews with U.S. officials, security experts and defense industry executives. Tenho comentado muito sobre esses assuntos em meus cursos e palestras, particularmente sobre terrorismo e inteligência. A guerra cibernética, o ciberterrorismo e os crimes cibernéticos são problemas que podem afetar significativamente a segurança nacional de países, sobretudo daqueles mais desenvolvidos…

Pois é… Se os EUA estão preocupados (e muito) com isso, será que haveria motivo para nós nos preocuparmos?

Digital deterrents: Preventing a Pearl Harbor of cyberspace

 At a time when the Internet has been inextricably linked to our national infrastructure, there are understandably serious concerns about the ability of the U.S.power grid to withstand a coordinated attack from hackers in cyberspace. The Internet has become the back door and front door to controlling nearly every aspect of our national infrastructure. Something as relatively simple as a Google search could lead hackers to possible entry points for controlling a nuclear power plant. At his confirmation hearing this summer, Defense Secretary Leon Panetta warned that, “There’s a strong likelihood that the next Pearl Harbor we confront could very well be a cyberattack that cripples our power systems, our grid, our security systems, our financial systems, our governmental system.” Continuar lendo →
