Se os EUA realmente decidirem por derrubar o regime de Assad, terão que contar, no mínimo, com a simpatia russa… Porém, ao dizer que pretende consultar o Congresso, Obama poderia estar demonstrando que não tivera grandes êxitos em um contato de bastidores com o Kremlin… Será que Washington ousaria desencadear uma ação militar contra Damasco à revelia de Moscou? Sempre bom lembrar quem governa a Rússia…

A military strike on Syria not sanctioned by the UN Security Council would be inadmissible no matter how “limited” it is, the Russian Foreign Ministry said on Friday.

 MOSCOW, August 31 (RIA Novosti) – A military strike on Syria not sanctioned by the UN Security Council would be inadmissible no matter how “limited” it is, the Russian Foreign Ministry said on Friday.

US President Barack Obama said earlier in the day that a potential military strike on Syria would be a “limited” operation aimed at punishing the Syrian government for achemical weapons attack it allegedly carried out last week.

“Any unilateral military sanction bypassing the UN Security Council, no matter how “limited” it is, will be a direct violation of the international law, [it will] undermine the possibility to solve the conflict in Syria by political and diplomatic means, [and] bring about a new round of confrontation and casualties,” Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Alexander Lukashevich said in a statement late on Friday. BEIRUT, January 6 (RIA Novosti) – Syrian President Bashar al-Assad has proposed a plan to resolve the country’s crisis which includes a national reconciliation conference, the formation of a new government and an amnesty.

“The first stage of a political solution would require that regional powers stop funding terrorists. The second stage will be calling a government conference on a national dialogue. The third stage will be the formation of a new government and declaration of an amnesty,” Assad said in a speech at the opera house in central Damascus. Continuar lendo →

EUA esperam que Rússia rompa com Assad… Esperem sentados, tá?!?

Matéria publicada pela Ria Novosti no último dia 30… Parece notícia da época da Guerra Fria… E deve ser mesmo! A negociação terá que ser muito boa para fazer os russos (e os chineses – o velho Kissinger tinha razão!) assumirem uma nova posição frente ao regime de Assad. Ademais, a Síria está perto demais da Rússia para simplesmente sair de sua esfera de influência. Até o momento, a única maneira que vejo de Assad cair por um acordo é encontrarem alguém de confiança de Moscou para substituí-lo. Ou seja, se Assad cair é porque o Kremlin o derrubou (e terá colocado um homem seu no lugar dele)… E, reitero, ainda têm que negociar com os chineses também!
